I gather that is cheap? Can't remember the last time I bought pineapples. My guess is that there was probably a very good harvest. They are highly perishable and my guess is demand doesn't respond that much to price. That means the price can go pretty low.
I've been bitching about pineapple prices for years. About this time of year they usually get to be around that. I don't understand how it can pay for shipping, much less (hmm) anything but slave wages. I want to pay more for my pineapples, to be honest.

I bought a pineapple last night here in Chattanooga. It was $2.99 which I thought was a great price. I just assumed that they were in season.
