Yup. I had the opportunity to go thru a ton of Apollo docs on their comms abt 4 years ago and just kept losing it how much they did w/so little computing power.

I'm struggling to find a better comparison, because even a microwave oven probably has a micro-controller with 10x more compute. Some powerful compute is well used (phones aren't actually bad), but on the other end of the scale there's... Slack.

I love the Apollo computer platform they came up with. Custom everything including an unusual 3-input NOR gate basic block, and wire-wrapped by hand! All custom software for a custom architecture.
