I'm suggesting Whitehouse has pulled his punches on issues he cares very deeply about when it came to protecting his own party's president.

I get that; but it seems materially different than what Whitehouse is alleging here. I too would like to see robust oversight irrespective of party affiliation, and I’d also like to ride a unicorn.
