I'm not "demolishing a claim." I'm pointing out that you're caricaturing one side of this -- the actual responsible one -- and ignoring our own side, the "All spooks and agents are heroes" one. It's a comment about how you're framing your chosen (false) dichotomy.

Excited to learn I have a side and that I now believe all spooks and agents are heroes. Learning so much about myself today.

Matt: Yes, you, too, have a tribe. You have a very well-defined position the preconceptions of which you usually refuse to examine. If that's news to you I'm sorry. Perhaps it IS time you learned this lesson about yourself?

This was a very exciting thread of personal attacks against me by demolishing claims I haven't made and don't hold, and which doesn't even tenuously connect to the thing that I originally tweeted about, so I guess I'll leave it here.

Matt: Pointing out another person's blind spots is NOT a personal attack. Pointing out that another person has imposed a false, dualistic framework on a complex problem is not an attack. That you view it that way is rather remarkable, for a normally rigorous analyst.

And that's particularly true given that this thread started when Jake and I noted, with evidence, that you had caricatured those of us who do criticize the FBI with evidence.

I wish the two of you would debate in real life. I find your debates on Twitter to be very helpful in understanding 4th amendment issues. Thank you.
