There's no denying the weird moments in recent political history when you'd see the progressive branch of Congress standing arm in arm with the Pauls of the world.
What's weird about that? Politics should never be viewed as a 2-dimensional map. Such simplification prevents compromises among anything but left-right axis, which only feeds polarization and tribalism.

It's weird viewed through the lens of politics since Gingrich became speaker. I totally agree it shouldn't be weird. I was saying the other day we need a big tent party with the civil liberties issues of guys like Paul and the social consciousness of the Sanders wing.
