Here, it had been reported that Mueller was looking into Trump’s response to Don Jr’s meeting at Trump Tower, and it was also reported that Hicks was involved in the initial written response (which I believe was found to be inaccurate) 4/

I agree with your analysis. But wouldn't refusing to meet with Mueller as a govt employee lead to calls for her firing? (I'm remembering the argument Libby's lawyers made).
