vesel like vessel nit like neet skaya like rhymes with "la playa" emphasis on the middle syllable
-
Yeah my problem is when I say it on TV or podcasts everything gets mixed up inside (and I once spoke a slavic language).
-
vesselNEETskahyah is i guess how i would phonetically write it up rhymes with "wrestle meats pie, ah"
-
That's exactly how I've heard (and tried to pronounce) it. I've also heard some creative pronunciations of Devin Nunes, but I think those are on purpose.
-
Funny thing abt Nunes is how people misspell it, Nunez, and then add a non-existent ~ to pronunciation.

You are wrong there. Ask a native Russian. Emphasis is on the NEET.

Isn't the "aya" added to the father's surname for a female? Her father would have been Veselnitsky. I heard a Russian speaker pronounce it that way on the teevee a couple of times. So forget the ai, ai, aiya part and go with Veselnitski. There..... done. Next?
