No. Often assessing a lawyer based on his record is considered a legit basis of evaluating him. Sometimes better, in fact, than those who have great personal attachment. Note: we're not alone. Our concerns are famously shared with the smartest Senator abt DOJ.

K. My thread is the personal kind. It’s about the type of people who are there for justice and to do what they believe to be the right thing for the institution and the country. As I put in my parenthetical, he had flaws. Doesn’t change my message. And amplifies it in this era.

I would argue that a career of refusing and/or blocking accountability for malfeasance by DOJ prosecutors was not " the right thing for the institution and the country." In fact, it was the antisepsis of that.
