For those asking, in this post I showed how starting in 2015 (2016 was first full year) we got two counting systems for FISC, so dramatically different numbers.

In fact, the FISC numbers (modified apps) show that they often provide way MORE oversight than a typical magistrate, by controlling how much data the govt can keep. But trust me: Rosemary Collyer is a shitty FISC judge.

Anyway, those new numbers from US Courts are just one of the transparency features of US Freedom Act that privacy community has largely not really made use of. Bob Litt suckered you by drowning you in "transparency" and it, largely, worked.
