I think both men money launder on their own. There's no indication, aside from Manafort having used Trump Tower as a laundering vehicle himself, that Manafort has been involved in Trump's laundering.

wouldn't it behoove Manafort to flip on his own & lock in a better deal with Mueller? what would be his strategy in resisting? hoping for T pardon--& thus no state crime charges--or is he afraid that Trump has dirt on him that Mueller might not have?
-
Fear of retaliation, in part.
-
In what ways can Trump's retaliation hurt Manafort more than Mueller? Is it possible Trump or his friends purposefully leaked T's message (abt M not flipping) as warning to M or encouragement to 'stay strong'?
-
It's not just Trump. It's Russian organized crime, which can get to Manafort in prison.
-
Maybe this is why there have been reports of Manafort feeling suicidal.
-
Link to such reports?

the Atlantic piece talks abt Manafort contemplating suicide in Spring 2015, well b/f Trump campaign connection. but it's a great expose of DC's every-grown corruption & lack of scruples, which in part made Trump's ascendance to WH plausible & 'normal'pic.twitter.com/tk4DrZNgPJ
