Wray was far better than most (not all) of Trump's FBI candidates. But I suspect we didn't get a guy who had a good idea of how to turn the tables on a bully.

Seems to me like the earlier leak of his threatening to quit with Sessions was entirely to persuade FBI rank-and-file he was on their side while having agreed to fire McCabe anyway
I'd buy that. At some point he's going to lose rank and file. But along the way he's losing trust of other IC agencies, foreign partners, and potential witnesses.
