As I note, the updated version of WaPo on Trump's attempt to fire Mueller makes it clear McGahn, Bannon, Priebus all in on it, and I contemporaneous reporting would put Ruddy in on it. https://www.emptywheel.net/2018/01/25/how-does-don-mcgahn-threaten-to-quit-without-telling-trump/ … So will Mueller call Ruddy?

to the extent that Trump objected to Mueller's conflict of interest arising from his personal relationship with Comey, it seems entirely natural that Trump should consider option of firing Mueller, as many people were suggesting. Other than gossip, what's the offence?

Do you have a link showing that a relationship between Mueller and Comey is what he was concerned about? Do you have any evidence that such a personal relationship exists? You're an evidence guy, right?

"personal relationship" might be a bit much, but here's a perspective on the Ashcroft/Hospital episode:https://www.washingtonian.com/2013/05/30/forged-under-firebob-mueller-and-jim-comeys-unusual-friendship/ …

Mueller and Comey go back to the curious Khobar Towers bombing. In June 2001, just before limitations period, Comey indicted Saudi Hezbollah for 1996 bombing rather than Osama bin Laden, an alternate suspect. Helped careers of both Comey and Mueller.pic.twitter.com/GRKiJ91mxd

WOWOWOWOWOW. Mueller did the bidding of Louis Freeh while he was a placeholder. THAT IS DAMNING.

I didnt say that Comey and Mueller working together on the KhobarTowers case was "damning". I simply pointed out an interesting prior association. You're reacting like Cathy Newman's recent interview. I think that KhobarTowers incident deserves re-analysis but different issue

It's not an "association." It's a bureaucratic action taken on direction by the boss. Cases get assigned all the time. This assignment is about Freeh, not Mueller.
