McGahn didn't even tell Trump he would quit. Ruddy, however, used the communication vehicle most effective with Trump: leaks to the press. Plus, Trump cares abt Ruddy more.

Btw, what's the journalistic convention for a 4-source story where at least two are represented by the same lawyer? I guess "all the people represented by William Burck, plus Trump's best buddy from Mar-a-Lago told us..." would give up the game?
