Why would they go to the trouble of building in several layers of plausible deniability yet leave some Russian equivalent of "Kilroy was here" cyber-written as "evidence" of a high-level Russian hack on the DNC? Part of a synergistic blend of extreme implausibilities in all this.

It is interesting how the grand unifying theory (not accusing Wheeler of this) goes from deeply sophisticated cover up (cutouts to WikiLeaks, secret messages in public speeches) to flagrantly amateurish (Facebook ads in rubles)

I'm not focused at all on Facebook, and think that part, especially, is way overblown.

Thanks for the clarification. Sorry, I meant in the piece. If the existence of APT28/FancyBear is only confirmed by CrowdStrike, I think there are open questions about their integrity.
