I was interviewed at length for this Glenn Greenwald piece. I spoke abt gender. I also compared Greenwald's skepticism of the RU story w/my increasing focus on it, w/o losing focus on civil liberties. Count how many women quoted in it.http://nymag.com/daily/intelligencer/2018/01/glenn-greenwald-russia-investigation.html?utm_campaign=nym&utm_medium=s1&utm_source=tw …

most likely muted but I appreciate your work in clearly taking about Trump-Russia affair. I personally think Glenn is looking at a long term impact this hysteria can have while you're focusing on the specific case of Trump's corruption. Still wish u were quoted in the article.
-
And I think the hysteria is an important point too. I think both of us have been targeted as part of the hysteria.
-
I don't know why anyone would target you considering you publish everything with proper sources and texts to back them up. I think you were the first to identify Miller in the Papadopoulos's guilty plea.
-
They target me bc I debunk some of the sloppier claims.
-
Like the dossier.
-
You can't really help those who cling to the dossier. It provided a perfect fodder for cable news and unfortunately that has an impact individual reporters like you can't change.

Can you give us some insight as to thaw actual import of such interference? So much scrutiny, but so little in the was of substantive consequence. If they were successful, thereby justifying all this hand-wringing, why is there no substantive action? 1/2
-
1) They did far more damage than is currently public (though not about vote totals, AFAIK). 2) The evidence about that is not yet rock solid. 3) Given that Trump won't do anything, means we have available is Mueller. Investigations take time.
-
I would contest the idea that we're waiting for evidence. There continues to be a quite avid pursuit of social media platform independence... but no real attempt to scrutinize electoral system weaknesses...meanwhile corporate looting goes on unabated 2/2
-
Contest it all you want. It's one thing to have a general idea. It's another to prosecute people.
-
I'm less interested in prosecutions, than the bigger picture of how this pursuit of fairly nebulous RU public influence crock is being operationalized to bring social media under 'control'. Trumps interests and shadiness are not news to anyone...

That's really disappointing. Sorry to hear that. Also, not including Laura Poitras is crazy.
-
Right?

If you happened to record your own interview with them, (which always do if possible) I'd transcribe and publish it in some form. I'd like to hear what you had to say.
-
I did not. I will do so in the future.

Do you have a piece where you lay out the evidence of RU collusion (besides US IC assertions) that you think GG is overlooking?
-
Here's my latest on the June 9 meeting. https://www.emptywheel.net/2018/01/17/the-june-9-trump-tower-limited-hangout/ …

The one thing I learned from that piece is Glenn has household staff
-
Also don't play him in tennis cause just saying he will beat your ass so bad just saying you will lose jorno objectivity
-
That's probably a fair point. I've not seen him play but he's serious about tennis.

I got free tennis lessons in the park when I was a kid, so watch out.pic.twitter.com/7eeUEygVOB
