Some points on this profile of Ed Baumgartner: It notes that (contrary to Simpson's testimony) Baumgartner was simultaneously billing for Prevezon--probably lobbying support, which is key--and for Dem oppo research. http://www.businessinsider.com/ed-baumgartner-fusion-gps-christopher-steele-russia-projects-2018-1 … Simpson was VERY forgetful abt that.

Not answered -- or even mentioned -- is the other question SJC staffers asked: Does Baumgartner know Rinat Akhmetshin? If he worked the lobbying stuff, the answer is Yes.

All of which is to say the piece confirms (without acknowledging that it does) that something Simpson was very hesitant to talk about -- that at least one more Fusion person, besides him, might have mentioned the dossier project to someone who would alert the Russians.

This bolsters the idea that Fusion is a research company without partisan agenda. Seeking the truth which is what would make sense. The truth is what businesses and politicians really need, then they decide what to do with it, which is where the problems arise.

not seeking the truth, seeking paychecks

Yes, but it makes sense that their paycheck comes from being able to provide basic truth. It's the guys who use the information for THEIR paycheck that distort it to their ends.
