In a sense, he's reverting to norm -- suing his way out of scrapes -- and doing so with a lawyer he still trusts.
But I suspect, too, they think they know what is coming and they think they can continue to rebut it w/their dossier strategy. They're not entirely wrong. There's still some leaking from Nunes, and Simpson didn't help Dems as much as they think.
But thus far, Mueller has pursued no angles that are fruits of the dossier, at all. And he'll do so less and less going forward. The dossier's failure to cover June 9 meeting will be Trump's downfall.
