"Under-the-radar" is probably wrong term, but whatever you call those stories that should have had more narrative staying power but for some reason were largely dropped. There are a number of them.
I think the problem is few are doing a coherent narrative. Even Luke Harding's book didn't, and he's one of the few who has tried so far.
Hmm. That's probably not entirely fair. WaPo and CNN both have good tlimelines/summaries. But still...
Agree re narrative. Pieces don’t fit together in people’s minds (including mine!) without an overall structure to hang individual stories off of.
This is something I experienced with the Plame case as well: a series of 1200 word stories are not the best way to understand a complex case (and Plame was less complex than this).
