For months, the typical MSNBC/liberal-blog consumer was encouraged to believe that, any second, Trump was going to be dragged out of WH in handcuffs and "die in jail." Few believe that now. So other than the value of knowing - which is real! - what's the expected outcome here?https://twitter.com/BrendanNyhan/status/945858970119421952 …

I haven't seen polling data, so I grant it's anecdotal and observational, but it definitely seems to me like there is less of an expectation of Trump's arrest and prosecution, and even impeachment, from all this as compared to, say, 6 or 9 months ago.
-
I'd say it's salutary that Preet, among others, noted the limits of Flynn's plea (tho many have missed that). But I think real evidence (as opposed to dossier claims) is accumulating.
-
Preet noted the POSSIBLE limits of the Flynn plea, while acknowledging that not all offices follow the SDNY prosecutorial model.

Do you think GG could substantiate his claim MSNBC spent months saying Trump would be arrested & die in jail? I’m just a little skeptical...
-
I actually think MSNBC has been irresponsible.

Accumulating evidence that the R&P (rich and powerful) have shady dealings other R&P around the world. 99.999% of the R&P got that way through crimes, crimes that the R&P will not allow any justice system to start holding them accountable for, even if that means Trump as POTUS.
-
What's happening now is Washington elites got embarrassed by Trump, went into a fit and started an investigation they would have had no intention of starting had they been in their right mind since it would open up questions as to their own corruption.
-
The reason this 'investigation' is taking so long is not because they're looking deep into Washington for actual espionage style corruption, no, it's the opposite as can be seen from the types of charges being brought forward ... charges for things largely unrelated to corruption
-
"OMG, we can't charge him with colluding with the Russians, what if people start demanding that colluding with multi-national corporations also be treated as real corruption? Look for something we can control, like lying-to-the-FBI or something like that."
-
We could randomly pick 10 Washington politicians and applying the same resources used on the Trump admin, we would find 9 of the 10 guilty of colluding with some country/corporation. When the first person is actually charged with such a crime then I'll believe this is not all BS.

HAlso, Glenn makes it seem like most MSNBC watchers were Munchies, which I doubt

I don't!

What is that evidence? How is it that only some are able to see it? If Trump is guilty of any crime he should held accountable but he real issue should be that the crimes he and other billionaires commit are legal.

The number of believers and the amount of evidence are separate issues. Former can be impacted by media coverage, latter depends on actual evidence gathering.
