Was the term originated to describe Turkey--yes or no?
Does the term as used by people in this sphere mean current consensus and habits, yes or you just don't care abt what his field has been doing for 15 years?

This isn't like "what did liberal mean in 18th Century England." Term created relatively recently to describe a specific institution that only died off roughly last year. I don't like this appropriation at any point and the problems with it are metastasizing under Trump.

Yeah my problem is that those who object to use of Deep State are pretending one of the precipitating causes to current state doesn't exist.

I certainly agree Trump is not (to go Asimov)The Mule -- he's a product of a broken society. And that includes the FBI and everything from Clinton mistakes (too hawkish on Russia) to Clinton victimized in re Benghazi/emails. But we're not Turkey and there's no single Deep State.
