In any event, my point is not to say that Trump will not ever fire Robert Mueller — that’s always been a possibility. My point is that I do not see anyone making any actual argument that has convinced me that this is something currently being considered.
I don't necessarily disagree with you. But no telling what Trump might try when riled up by Fox and Friends some morning. And who knows how he'll respond to a Kushner indictment or similar.
Totally agree that there is no ability to predict how he will react on a certain day or in certain situations — and that, of course, not in any way conflicting with my point that I don’t see an argument that a firing is being planned or considered currently.
.@JohnWDean made an interesting point on @intercepted the other week, that prosecutors may be hesitant to directly pursue Jared because traditionally juries/judges are reluctant to come down on family members of the "real" target, e.g. Flynn's son.
IMO Jared committed outright crimes, pretty grave ones. His out will be that pop ordered him. But that's all he'll have. He's a target in his own right, bc he's the one that did the dirty work for pop.
Don't disagree he deserves it, but it was an interesting insight into the minds of prosecutors that they may be reluctant despite the wealth of evidence.

Don’t you think Mueller has some kind of ace in the hole? Can’t Mueller take it to court if fired? Would he then share all the evidence to show he was canned to stop investigation?
I think Mueller has some stuff that will change the response to this stuff. Dunno when he'll roll it out though.

The rumor Speier heard is DT will 'fire Mueller' in big speech Friday. GOP plan to ram the tax bill thru on Tuesday. The 'rumor' blows susceptible Dem/press minds a 1,000 mph (past tax bill) to 'rumored' threat Friday & holiday break, like a herd of goalies out of the pocket.
