Almost think there has to be some mastiff type, dane, something to get a head that big. My great dane/bullmastiff weighs 150 and a whole lot of that is head.
Mastiff is a possibility (and it'd explain the blue tongue) but he's pretty small.

that's why I was thinking aussie shepherd or something else with merle gene to get that look, or merle dane and who knows what. I just love dogs.
