Isikoff should start his appearance here by disclosing when he was briefed by Steele. But...

YAY! Isikoff points to the things that Steele pointed to, not the things that were public.

NOOOOOO. That was NOT something new!! Guccifer had been posting since 6/15. This is utter bullshit.

When is Rachel going to tell us abt the Steele cyber dossier, dated 7/26, which was so embarrassingly behind cyber it should discredit the entire piece? Oh. She's not going to tell us.

Dilanian makes it clear he was getting briefing on the dossier. Which I think (though need to confirm) conflicts with sworn declarations.

Is this really the third commercial break? I'm going to have to get some PHARMA company to sponsor my dossier reporting.

The truth is WikiLeaks completely buried the most important Podesta emails (on speech transcripts) by posting against Access Hollywood. https://www.emptywheel.net/2017/04/06/the-october-non-surprise/ …

Note how Rachel doesn't tell us that reporters [Isikoff had already published off the dossier] were already being briefed in September, meaning RU probably knew if not by June 9.

Corn suggests he vetted the claims. But then doesn't describe vetting them, at all.

Rachel here suggests that Corn's post wasn't a response to Comey reopening investigation. I ... doubt that.

Hmm. By my count we heard about ~6 dossier reports, maybe. Out of 17. Why don't we hear about the other ones?

Another report -- the most dubious one!! -- ignored thus far in TRMS entire hour story on this.

It'd be REALLY awesome for Rachel to report on who gave Buzzfeed this dossier bc Steele has NOT listed them as an official recipient.

"The question we ask ourselves is why would we keep this from our audience." Trying to help out Buzzfeed's lawsuits. But @BuzzFeedBen really underplays the obvious errors.

No. Isikoff did a story in September, Corn did one in October, CNN reported the Trump briefing, then Buzzfeed leaked it all.

One YUGE problem with the dossier, even assuming Rinat Akhmetshin didn't sabotage it from the start, is that Steele was reporting it out as reporters were too. Bad OpSec.
