      Interesting. What if 1) Mueller deferred the Turkish corruption 2) WRT the central quid pro quo on sanctions, etc, Flynn was ordered to make the deals AND to lie abt it?

      Folks I continue to think we're underestimating the extent to which *Mueller* needs *Flynn* here. Key to getting Trump is Kushner. M knows that F can probably get him K. So the deal is based on that ladder move -- not on going all the way up to Trump. That's why it's modest.

      Right. I just think we're assuming that (a) Flynn knows more than he does, (b) Mueller knows all that Flynn knows, and (c) most importantly, that Mueller is using Flynn to get to Trump. Goal is Kushner. Then we see where things stand.

      Some of what I was saying here wrt election period. http://www.nybooks.com/daily/2017/12/05/michael-flynn-what-we-know-what-mueller-knows/ … But I think Mueller's move to plea was influenced by locking in other information that made clear outlines of Flynn's knowledge/degree to which he was directed.

      Agree. Mueller definitely got *something* of value here, and definitely held charges. I just think what he got was not "Trump in the library with the lead pipe." What he got was a strong sense that Flynn could nail Kushner -- Trump's greatest liability and pressure point.
