Thoughtful @AndrewCMcCarthy piece with which I completely disagree. Would love to swap notes with him on the @lawfareblog podcast.http://www.nationalreview.com/article/454269/michael-flynn-plea-no-breakthrough-russia-investigation …

McCarthy’s take is plausible only if you ignore wider context.
-
Or if you ignore that the Flynn plea involved just 2 of Mueller's 16 prosecutors.
-
And that Mueller, who is a thorough investigator by reputation, is said to have postponed Flynn-related GJ testimony around the same time he was weighing the defense's proffer. Why settle for a mild deal without exhausting avenues that might falsify the nothing-burger hypothesis?

#StayFocused.#Flynn had a reason for lying to the FBI. If he were engaged in ordinary international relationship-building, he wouldn't have had one. - His actions were clearly illegal. - He knew it. - K.T. McFarland, his subordinate, took his calls as POTUS's NSA Liaison. Done.Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo
