And that Mueller, who is a thorough investigator by reputation, is said to have postponed Flynn-related GJ testimony around the same time he was weighing the defense's proffer. Why settle for a mild deal without exhausting avenues that might falsify the nothing-burger hypothesis?

Exactly. Most of the evidence has been in full view of the public for over a year. Once you add private communications you get a clearer picture.

There's still a great deal of evidence the public is not seeing. As I said yesterday, thus far we've seen what 8 of Mueller's 16 prosecutors are doing.
