i find myself in the strange position where i believe that (1) yes, the russians totally did it, (2) there very well _may_ have been "collusion" (tbd), but (3) the steele dossier is pretty much useless bunk.
Oh. There was collusion. But (as you know) the dossier describes it as existing in places entirely different from where it was going on.

Obviously I don't know for sure who paid him but if RU did it doesn't prove collusion. Fact is, RU did not need to actually collude with Trump's campaign to cause chaos. Trump's campaign = "useful idiots"

Oh. I'm not saying that does prove collusion. But the "collusion" (I hate that word) will be proven based on that June 9 meeting, which is currently being misrepresented in the press.

You might be correct, maybe the June 9th meeting will prove that collusion existed but I just find it hard to believe that Putin would actually trust Trump for anything.

It's not necessarily about trust. It's about control. You gotta have proof that Trump knew he was working with Russian to win, otherwise you can't demand anything later.
