There’s a lot winding through there, so read the whole story.

To be clear, this was pretty much inevitable ever since we knew/understood Mueller was including the Comey firing in his investigation. It makes it explicitly clear that he *is* still investigating it, though.

The fact that Mueller is asking for docs related to Sessions’ recusal is intriguing to me.

Pure guesswork, but could it be because Sessions delayed his recusal or refused initially? That would bolster possible obstruction charges. It took a month for Sessions to recuse. Why so long? What was happening in that month?

I mean, we don’t have that answer. There are about 15 reasons I can think of off the top of my head why those emails could be important, as an independent line of inquiry or as provide evidence regarding an existing line.

Right. I'm interested in it as well. But it might be scope of recusal (technically Comey comments violated it, bc abt election). Also note I'd bet $$ USA firing is problematic from documentary perspective.

Well, there are scope of recusal questions all over.

Yup. So Sessions recuses from all election related things, then fires Comey bc of Hillary related thing, he has violated recusal. Why? Bc he's an idiot? Or collusive?

It makes it harder that he presents as an idiot. it's clear he violated ethics. But he has presented that he doesn't understand his recusal, alway.

There have been so many post-Comey things that have raised questions about the scope of the recusal, and there have never been any real answers from DOj.
