Hey, what about Darfur? Didn't anyone say never again after Darfur?

Sad that I'm grateful for the people coming into my TL to list all the places I didn't rather than the morons claiming Obama had no role in Yemen.
-
i was just trying to brighten the general mood in my own special way.
-
It wasn't just you! And I'd rather than knowledgable people than kneejerk Obama defenders.
-
but i was the most chipper about it! i'd like to think.
-
i wonder if you could do a modern major general version of countries and people who've experienced genocide.

Frankly, I doubt Trump has any idea of the horror we are helping to perpetuate.
-
Not sure what the word "horror" means to a guy like Trump.
-
True. He's a sociopath. He doesn't understand pain and fear in others. But, I honestly don't think he knows this is even going on.

After Yemen is resolved they all will again repeat the promise, "never again"
-
you forgot a few tombstones. wounded knee, trail of tears, Japanese internment, colonialism of Alaska and the kingdom of Hawaii

Not to mention Indonesia 1965, East Timor 1975-99, Guatemala 1980s. And others. Good cartoon on an abstract level, but it's amazing how effectively the patriotic American mind excises those mass atrocities for which the USA bears direct responsibility.

"We" is not the best term. Some people do all they can to avoid contributing to these sorts of things. This is just what forced funding does

The group of thugs to which you are referring doesn't represent me. Taxes & inflation used to create blow back, & excuses to destroy freedom do not serve the average person.

It's NOT genocide. It's awful but it's geopolitical. It's inexcusable, cynical, worthy of war-crimes trials. It's aimed at Shias, particularly Iran. You devalue the term.
-
The Holocaust wasn't "geopolitical"? Of course it's genocide.
-
U throw the term around too loosely. Diminishes the ritualized slaughters of Jews, Tutsis, Armenians, Roma, gays.
-
Perhaps your application of the word is too narrow.pic.twitter.com/Q36m2lLNhX
-
Doesn't apply to Yemen, IMO.
-
Because there are still a few Yemeni people alive?

All horror & killing aren't genocide. Shiites & Sunnis aren't trying to genocide each other, as Turks did to Armenians, Hitler did to Jews, and Hutu did to Tutsi. Saudi Arabia, egged on by Israel and the US (all three of them aiming at Iran), invaded Yemen. It's cynical politics
