anyone: show me a single, specific claim in the steele dossier that (1) was not already public knowledge when the respective memo was written, and (2) has since been proven correct. i'll wait.https://twitter.com/empiricalerror/status/929527238881619969 …

Is this article considered incorrect now for some reason I've missed? http://www.cnn.com/2017/02/10/politics/russia-dossier-update/index.html … I think it's a mixed bag and too complicated to untangle in twitter posts, since the dossier and media were feeding off one another, but one instance I find kinda interesting

is its predictions about the next email drop. In July it said there wouldn't be any for a bit, and then in the fall it predicted that things would start dropping again after Duma elections. Which roughly fits the timeline.

oh, come on. that memo is dated 14 September 2016, at which point wikileaks had already announced there was more to come.http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/assange-up-to-100000-pages-of-clinton-documents-to-come/article/2601353 …

it's not predictive at all. none of it.

I think that's a too expansive claim, but it also kind of doesn't matter. The dossier is just one compilation of information that was at the time and has since been picked up on in other investigations.

then please show me a single accurate prediction. just one. the dossier is a compilation of _public_ information beefed up with lots of bullshit.

Without knowing a heckuva lot more, can't say for certain what was lucky guesses and what was things picked up from accurate rumors. And if it's stuff that happened, it makes sense that multiple sources picked up on it. But again, I don't see why it matters?

what are those "lucky guesses" and "accurate rumors" please? everything in the dossier that's verifiably true was already in the public domain at the time the respective steele memo was written.

That people in the Trump campaign *were* in talks with Russian agents about dirt on Hillary. The dossier got that broad claim right. You can say it was a lucky guess based on rumor, sure, but maybe they were based on rumors that traced back to the source. And again, who cares?

The dossier said that was kompromat from old wiretaps on Hillary even AFTER the email hack and leak broke.
