Wonder how many extraordinary renditions, even from allied countries like Sweden or Italy, Mike Flynn was privy to while in USG?
I don't think the number would surprise me. How closely involved he was at JSOC, maybe. Eh. Prolly not.

But I think most people are dissociating rendering Gulen with what we do all the time in name of terrorism, same justification used here.
-
The other question is what quid pro quo we've offered for extraordinary renditions. And if Flynn knew about them. Could make for interesting discovery if he did.
-
In this case Flynn or USG wd have been the beneficiary of the quid pro quo, not the reverse. Plenty of speculation on what Turks might have been willing to do for US, in terms of compliant foreign and military policy, in exchange for Gulen.+
-
Same goes, btw, for Turks' desperate desire to recover Rezza Zarrab (trial starts Nov. 27 in SDNY), on charges of evading US Iran sanctions in 'gas for gold' scheme operated from TK. Rudy Giuliani is on Zarrab defense team and has been trying to work a 'diplomatic' resolution.

Yes. As I noted, I think the Zarrab part of this is more interesting than the Gulen one. https://www.emptywheel.net/2017/11/10/the-flynn-turkey-deal-raises-the-obstruction-stakes-for-the-preet-bharara-firing/ …
