It does say "records from PureVPN" which would certainly suggest they had DHCP or similar records/logs...
-
They can't really be "from PureVPN" if they didn't have them, could they. "Records" also suggests historical data... just my opinion.
-
In the post I suggest they used a PRTT. Which doesn't involve stored logs. And no, I don't think records has to mean historic.
-
Also buried in their terms and conditions PureVPN actually say they do keep records from what I have seen in the coverage of this story
-
They certainly will respond to a legal request of an order/warrant. As will anyone else in the US, I think.
-
I suppose the obvious way to find out is... Hey
@PureVPN do you log any data or keep any records including access logs, be honest now? -
@josephfcox asked that the other day. https://twitter.com/josephfcox/status/916321986174996480 …This Tweet is unavailable. -
Session logs WOULD get the two incoming IP addresses.

Agreed. The same purevpn IP was used to log into his gmail. Purevpn does log ip/connection history. Activity logs not needed here.
