Aren't there downsides to using the SCA procedures? Eg, notice required if there's no warrant. Seems Mueller would avoid if possible.

Almost every 2703d order comes with a gag. Besides if anyone were worried about notice you think it would leak like a sieve?
-
A gag but not indefinite, judge has to renew every 90d. And sure, generalities have leaked, but not specifics of account, which data, etc.
-
The ones that have all be shut down? You think IRA doesn't know they've been shut down?
-
They'll know what's shut down but not which Mueller has yet. I'm just saying SCA w/o warrant has downsides for him. He'd avoid if possible.
-
Mueller has everything shut down. Easy! Next question?
-
And if you're really worried about notice use 702. No process, you get everything.
-
Maybe. IMHO getting a warrant w/ probable cause of "foreign account bought election-related ads" would be easier than either SCA or 702.

What is your take on why numerous outlets have confirmed a warrant? Specifically, the motivations for the source of confirmations?
-
That they haven't confirmed a warrant and people claiming they have are misreading.

I just re-read the CNN article. I'm no reading comprehension connoisseur, but this reporting is as straightforward as it gets?pic.twitter.com/W2n5k9STLr
-
The only place they claim a warrant was used doesn't cite a source at all. THe only thing the source serves as is to say what was given.
-
I see. That would be insanely irresponsible reporting if you are right.

Did you try the reporter who wrote the CNN article?
-
Try him for what? An actual quote rather than supposition? Can you point to an actual quote stating they got a warrant?
-
I didn't meant to argue. I'm just curious
-
Gotcha. Sorry to be short.
