I think charging domestic terrorism as a hate crime is rightly problematic (and understand complaints abt hate crimes generally).

But I also think treating domestic terrorism as a one off hate crime makes it less likely to conduct a network investigation of associates.

There are a number of subsequent attacks by people who were "materially supporting" earlier ones that might be avoided.

Ultimately, what we have now is a grossly unequal system in which Muslim young men get thrown away for life and white men don't.

Reality is that "just right" is prolly between where we police Muslims and where we police far right now. Should shift standard for all.
