One other things abt speculation abt @MalwareTechBlog. On top of speculating abt rel to co-defendant, have to explain why THIS got charged.
-
-
Going out on a limb (dangerous). Identifiablility (twitter posts weakly connecting him to Kronos) and availability (at the airport).
-
That can't actually explain why he was indicted on July 11, just a week after AlphaBay seizure (and not arrested last year when in LV).
-
I still wonder at jurisdiction. Where are the US victims?
-
You don't need victims. The entire Cazes indictment is built off Fed Agent purchases.
-
&, again, govt public statements describe victims in bunch of other countries, including UK. Not US. They're SORT OF saying Kronos=Kelihos

this has been my question from day one, and maybe you know, how does US even have jurisdiction on this?
-
The purchase. That's probably why venue is in EDWI.
-
seems a bit of waste of money on US part but maybe I'm missing something. And feds love making mnt out of mole
-
Which is point of my needle in haystack issue. Either co-defendant is MAJOR criminal & they have foolish credible belief MTB can get to him,
-
Or there's ... some other explanation.
-
burning easy person to grab heavy hitter seems plausible, just don't understand this case. Will be interesting

Presumably they have a victim in the Eastern District of Wisconsin.
-
No word of victim, and even US says victims are in other countries. No need for one either. Other AB charges built off FBI/DEA purchases.
