Being touted as "big correction". It's not. It's just diff assessments. The October 7 statement was by 17 agencies. The Jan 6 one by just 3.
It's not super obvious why the correction was needed. The Oct 7 statement *also* said Russia was behind the hack https://www.dni.gov/index.php/newsroom/press-releases/press-releases-2016/item/1635-joint-dhs-and-odni-election-security-statement …
And that was just 2 IC agencies. It needed correcting and Dems should stop using 17 lines as well.
Not sure who thought "17 agencies" was a good line and not "a joint statement on behalf of the entire US intelligence community"
