I don't know whether he did. I sat through most of the trial and never saw anything that'd get me to beyond reasonable doubt, esp for 1st 3.

That is hyperbole. It wasn't metadata alone. It was the fact he knew of the program and the metadata.

Yes. A lot of people knew of the program. Several never had their metadata collected. Several were more likely candidates.

According the public record it's not clear that FBI ever even got the metadata from their first suspect.
