Yes. Also this erroneous WaPo report claiming FBI found Flynn calls weren't improper. Never explained or retracted: https://www.washingtonpost.com/world/national-security/fbi-reviewed-flynns-calls-with-russian-ambassador-but-found-nothing-illicit/2017/01/23/aa83879a-e1ae-11e6-a547-5fb9411d332c_story.html?utm_term=.93c242cdf0e3 … https://twitter.com/mattyglesias/status/868259298677325824 …

Wouldn't that be pretty massive breach of trust w/ the reporters and merit their acknowledging they'd been used to plant false information?

These stories has massive impact on momentum (consider the pre-election WaPo story claiming no Trump-Russia ties). Yet no postmortems?

Spayd did do a post-mortem on the NYT October one. That said, I think it is not as bad as people make out.

NYT one was bad because the story was just beginning to be looked at (e.g. Mother Jones broke the dossier story then). Nail in coffin.

This includes timeline of it. https://www.emptywheel.net/2017/03/06/the-feedback-loop-in-christopher-steeles-dossier/ … Remember dossier had not been verified at that point. May explain part of NYT story.

That is, NYT story may have been pushback against Reid's attempt to get FBI to endorse still unverified dossier.
