Dems (non-corrupt types) need to consider whether they want 10 year FBI term. It was fixed term for reason, meant to prevent what happened.

Simply saying, "doesn't matter if Trump appoints politicians to run FBI, we'll get WH and appoint our own" accepts politicization of justice
-
Eventually (prolly sooner rather than later), it won't matter anymore, bc FBI will be enforcement wing of one party control of state.
-
If you simply say, "so what, POTUS Warren will appoint her won FBI Director" (which would be AWESOME), you accept new norm of politicization
-
Except that moves us very very far away from democracy and rule of law, period.
-
In any case, if that is where we are going--to bloodthirsty politicization--Dems had better get a LOT more effective and cutthroat, stat
-
Sounds like maybe only solution is not allow prez to appoint FBI director. Have them pick their own or have 2/3 margin in senate requirement
-
We have a real weakness in our constitution that everything in Exec needs to be under POTUS control.

When did "at the pleasure of the prez" take root? I thought special circumstances were required.
-
No special circumstances when Clinton fired his FBI head.
-
Yeah right. Rolls eyes.
