Q: If DHS had called up DNC and said, "Russkies are pwning you do something!!" several times in 2015, would DNC have responded differently?

-
Well, they had threat connect. You know, market solutions.

Privatization is the USA's downfall… -
Well they didn't bring in CS until 9 months after FSB arrived (tho had them in to investigate Bernie in interim).

Crowdstrike.
-
If they'd had Akamai set up they'd have seen unusual access. Without knowing the configuration on their mail or web servers, it's conjecture
-
It's hard to tell if they had basic security measures set up because one of those 1st level basic security things is don't share a password
-
I don't think if they'd been told multiple times it would have mattered, not because the tech team is bad, but the users caused the breach

unlikely but story of FBI calling them once and both of them shrugging was more than strange. No follow-ups or in-person almost unbelievable
-
There were f-ups. Moreover if DNC contractor did what he said, he would have learned it was a RU hack.
-
pretty sure I do more verification on spam texts and emails sent to my family than anyone at DNC actually did when FBI called

I wouldn't have let them touch my servers.
-
Thus my question abt DHS. Did they not let FBI touch the servers bc FBI is LE?
-
The hackers had access to the email because of the phishing. Or did I miss something?

So, phishing is one thing. Access to servers, that's different. Setting up honeypots could have been done using gmail or similar.
