Wow. No. You're wrong. The Circa piece is about back door searches. Which is 100% surveilling USPs w/o FISA warrant.

-
But it is also the case that claim Gov needs warrant to do what Paul linked to (and thereby was talking about) is utterly false.
-
A good thread by someone that would know, not fuzzy conspiracy stuff.https://twitter.com/20committee/status/860466491380170752 …

Yeah. Sorry. It's wrong. What Circa was referring to was back door searches. They involve no masking in the first place. Zero. None. Nada.
-
That is the reason they are so problematic. Bc if FBI starts investigating Mike Flynn, they get all the FISA content they have w/o warrant.
-
And THEIR numbers of doing so are so high they're not even in the underlying report.

His wording clearly implied targeting. It wasn't "who others incidental conversations with NSA monitored foreign operatives was unmasked?".
-
Oh. Well, his link did not. At all. Also, this IS NOT about unmasking. Now you're making errors.
-
It is about reviewing incidental collection and unmasking. That is literally what the article is about.
-
Yes. CIRCA uses that word erroneously, one Natasha repeats. But it is not about unmasking. It's really not. It doesn't involve any masking.
-
Sigh. Well, it is what Sen. Paul links to, and so it is what the entire tweet was about! We supposed to be mind-readers?
-
Well, you're not. But Natasha is supposed to be a journalist on this beat. That makes the claim different.
-
Well, for the benefit of those of us not blessed with clairvoyance, how about a link that supports your points? This one ain't it.
-
This may be useful. Last paragraphs describe what Paul is referring to.http://www.slate.com/articles/technology/future_tense/2017/04/republicans_complaining_about_surveillance_are_still_ignoring_civil_liberties.html …
