I think it's a bad idea to advertise it. Maybe it wasn't consistent, but it gives ammo to people like Maduro to use in a dissent crackdown

In the short term absolutely. In the medium term it might lead Americans to start thinking abt thugs we support.

ANd I do think Americans, as a rule, need to get their heads out of their collective rear ends about how we foster human rights abuses.
