If the US wants to frack to achieve some kind of energy independence and then DOES something with it--like ditch the Saudis, great.
But that hasn't happened.
If, however, US only wants to frack to make it easier to drive down oil prices, with consequent chaos, around globe, that causes, not great
So which is it? Seems like there's some strawmen in those statements.
It's far more the latter, actually. Which is why I raised it. It was a hegemonic move, one we have squandered.

I raised the most obvious. We have an unbelievably counterproductive relationship with KSA. We used to HAVE to have it bc of oil.
