Q: Do people believe entire Pentagon complicit in Trump's fake attack on Syria? And no one has yet leaked that it was designed to fail?

Are you insinuating he wanted an excuse to do more? Or that there was a different ulterior motive, i.e. to gain support, etc?

I'm not insinuating anything. Others are insinuating that, bc the base is still functioning, that it was designed to do no damage.

Clearly wasn't designed to damage much. Too little was left unusable. Leaving runways intact is an amateur move if real damage intended.

Sure, but there are lots of reasonable reasons for that that stop short of "James Mattis is complicit in plot with Vladimir Putin."

True. After all, default behavior at Pentagon is to salute and say "yes, sir." Until we know what their instructions were, we know nada.

OT. West was ready to give Assad billions as of Monday? Why use WMDs? https://www.nytimes.com/2017/04/06/world/middleeast/syria-bashar-al-assad-russia-sarin-attack.html …

"Entire" Pentagon needn't be complicit, the leadership need only be compliant with "limited"strikes, "sending a message."

Not exactly. We *had* to warn Russians, didn't want WW3. Inevitable they would warn Syrians. So inevitably weak, but not covertly so.

There's a grain of truth under the conspiracy theories: it was ineffective in reaching any political goal. Like most limited strikes.

God I hope not. "Send a Message" may have been a silly plan, but it's a 100% plausible plan and was well-executed.

how many ppl are really involved in targetting? how many (or few) need to be in on the "hit a couple bldgs and sand" angle?
