X//Xx Putin told Medvedev "We'll hack [US Org1] to help [USP2] beat [USP3]" isn't outrageous political spying on the DNC, Trump and Clinton.

Also: DNC were told by FBI they had been hacked. So we know for sure that DNC was "incidental" to surveillance & "unmasked". No big scandal.

It's a scandal conjured up by TV hacks, defending Trump's team turning out to be crooks, done using public's ignorance of surveillance terms

Yes, some part of USG should know all the details. But, taking into account the equities, what's the case to include the WH?

Scenario: POTUS-Putin call later. Report comes in. Says "Putin attacked US-Org1, supports candidate USP2". Is it unreasonable to unmask?

Lots of different scenarios in which it might be reasonable. Also lots where it might be unreasonable. Without context, can't say either way

Um. If we can believe Nunes (even tho he has been all over the map) these intercepts were not (all) RU ones.

If they include RU ones (they likely do!) then Cohen-Watnick is prolly on the hook for obstruction of justice.
