"Unmasking" is the concern of people who talk to foreign leaders a lot. "Back door searches" are what affect powerless people.

Unmasking (at least in this case) is a power play between the powerful. That doesn't mean it doesn't matter.

There is as of yet zero evidence this isn't solidly in line w/what Nunes has long insisted as necessary for NatSec.

The standard is not what Nunes thinks. The question is if publicly unmasking is criminal, and if so who (if not Rice who?) did it and why.

We actually don't know what happened there, but it is at worst a no-brainer unmasking followed by leaks, not a public unmasking.

It's the public leak of an (understandable) unmasking, which may be a crime, committed for potentially partisan reasons, that is problem.

It's not clear the leak came from an "unmasking" tho.

OK, well the leak happened from someone privy to the intel that was not in a position to publicly disclose.

Maybe. POSSIBLE (tho unlikely) it was officially declassified. Probable (per Comey) it was 2nd hand leak(s).
