Nunes, now fully committed to digging his own grave, claims to have own "sources and methods" to protect from other intel committee members.https://twitter.com/BraddJaffy/status/846826423423766529 …

If they were real whistleblowers that would be appropriate, tho.

Maybe but there was never any assertion this was whistleblowing or any kind of illegal conduct.

I wouldn't be surprised if Nunes gets closer to asserting w-blow status here, if only to sustain protection.

But i'm also trying to avoid calling for a response that would make it harder for, say, Schiff, to protect real w-blowers.

I don't see why it would be illegal for a cleared WH staffer to share intel in a scif with a member of HPSCI.

Not to gadfly, but what does “illegal” mean if the DOJ is uninterested in pursuing a case—even if referred by FBI—and Cong Ethics likewise?

Not clear this would be illegal in any case, or even against HPSCI rules, rather than norms. @Susan_Hennessey

I think FBI is investigating in all seriousness and Comey is very aggressive. But lots is not illegal @Susan_Hennessey

And some, per his emails choice, is not appropriate for prosecution even if illegal. But stonewalling is suspicious, frustrating

CI investigations are not supposed to be public. Makes investigation harder could get people killed @Susan_Hennessey

At some point the issues of internal corruption need to be addressed. Logan, FARA, etc could be determined not worth prosecution
