So realignment is which party grabs industrial workers, a shrinking class with hobbled labor unions. Is that durable?

Realignment is GOP running close to a supermajority of state legislatures. That's pretty sustainable.

Dems know how to run govt (at least passably). GOP knows how to win elections (by hook and lots of crooks).
