This is equivalent issue to expectation insurance should pay for childbirth, btw. Basic medical care.

birth control is not necessary medical care and many types are available over the counter

Childbirth is not necessary either. You willing to forgo that?

if a woman is pregnant than yes, childbirth is very much necessary. Birth control is a choice, not a right.

Pregnancy--which requires childbirth--is also a choice, not a right. You're totally inconsistent here.

regardless, govt shouldn't compel insurance companies to cover anything, childbirth, birth control, etc.

That is your opinion, to which you're entitled. But your comment on that woman made errors of fact.

When insurance won't provide BC, govt pays for it. Expectation is that govt will compel insurance companies or cover BC itself.

Yes. Bc the law is that insurers not refuse paying for normal women's health care, including pregnancy and birth control.

that's what I'm saying: it shouldn't be the law. The law stems from the incorrect assumption that BC is necessary medical care

And by the way, for 6 years of my life, birth control was necessary healthcare for me. You seem ignorant abt women's health.

what I'm saying is simple: Leave govt out of it. BC is necessary rarely if ever. But regardless, let providers decide

Fine. I get your opinion. But please be consistent and apply same standard to pre-natal care and delivery then.

don't believe delivery care and birth control fall under same standard. But yes, companies should be free to decide.

no, I think providers should be able to choose what they cover. My lifestyle choices have nothing to do with it

no, I do believe that. My reasoning is tough to explain in brief. But I have no problem with insurance choosing to cover BC.
