I don't think they're evolving theories. I think they're competing versions. Yahoo, ex-Yahoo, and Congress all have agendas.

Wrt the tech part, my hunch is that different accounts (spam scanning vs. rootkit) deal w/ diff. parts of the system.

It's possible after Stamos left they changed how scan was done, to use spam filter.

Not what I think. 2 parts: Scan incoming mail == mod. spam filter. Make flagged mails/accts avail to Feds == rootkit.
